[Photonicat 2] r7907 Wi-Fi-related bugs (5 Bugs +1 FR)

Hi Team!

The r7907 firmware has several Wi-Fi-related bugs:

Bugs

  1. In the PCIe Wi-Fi card settings, after a clean install, encryption is set to WPA3-SAE by default. However, after selecting a frequency, this option disappears, leaving only WPA2-PSK or NONE available.
  2. In the PCAT2 web interface, there is no option to select any encryption type other than WPA2-PSK.
  3. Wi-Fi settings sometimes reset to default values, including the default network name and password. This often happens when the Wi-Fi card is disabled and reenabled.
  4. Disabling/enabling Onboard Wi-Fi on the Device Control page and clicking Save Network Settings does not actually change the Onboard Wi-Fi state, even though the switch shows that Onboard Wi-Fi is disabled. To apply the change correctly, it is necessary to make the change on the WI-FI tab (Toggle Wi-Fi → SAVE).
  5. When PCAT2 operates in Wi-Fi Upstream mode, clients connected to the other Wi-Fi card are not detected (shown as "0 Connected"), which triggers the "No WiFi Client Auto-Shutdown" action.

Feature request

  • When configuring Upstream Wi-Fi, there is an option to use a Private MAC address, but no way to set a custom MAC address manually. Please add this option. It would be useful in cases such as connecting PCAT2 to a Wi-Fi hotspot using the MAC address of another device that is already authorized, or similar scenarios.

Dear Team,
Were you able to reproduce the five bugs listed above, or do you need me to provide reproduction steps for any of them?
